I’ve gone through classical training playing the piano, reaching the highest level in the Royal Conservatory of Music. During the pandemic, I taught myself the guitar. Soon after, I took up songwriting and learned to record and produce music. Creating music from multiple genres, individually or with others, has become one of my favorite hobbies. Writing, performing, and producing music has leveraged skills I have from different domains, utilizing my creative mindset and technical skills.
Below, I've included two examples of music that I entirely wrote and performed myself.
I played guitar, bass, keyboard, and digital drums to create this track, my most jazz-influenced song to date. I incorporated some of my knowledge of music theory on the keyboard, while also improvising most of the guitar. The most interesting part of the song to create was the key change at 0:32.
In this track, I made use of various synthesizer sounds which I played on a keyboard, along with organic instruments such as the guitar, mandolin, bass, and percussion. Layering these elements created a vaguely medieval sound that I used throughout my game "Medieval Marketsim".
